In New Zealand, we use two flies - a brown one and a black one!
Rene Vaz of Manic Tackle Project says: Slim, dark and handsome. This little guy has a surprising amount of weight with very little resistance in the water to hinder it's sink rate, making it a perfect little pattern for working deep runs. The black tungsten bead is hidden in the thorax and being tied with no flash or tinsel these patterns are a must for any NZ trout angler.
Zane Mirfin says: Once you've fished black you'll never go back! This nymph really gets down to deep fish. Particularly good in Eastern waters.
